Common questions
Where is my data stored?
Your data has an on-device copy so MADSET keeps working offline. When you
sign in with Apple, your complete structured workout log, plan, InBody,
recovery, cardio, and wearable history is encrypted on the phone before
it is uploaded to the MADSET Health Vault. In versions with profile settings,
your chosen name and small profile photo are also included after a successful sync,
along with your optional date of birth in versions that support it. Other photos
and videos are not part of this backup. A manual JSON export is also available.
See the privacy policy.
How do I move my data to a new phone?
On your old phone, open Settings → Account & backup,
tap Sync now, and wait for confirmation. Install the latest
MADSET on your new phone and choose Continue with Apple using the
same MADSET account. After a successful sync on the old phone, Health
Vault restores the complete structured workout log and supported plan,
InBody, recovery, cardio, and wearable data. Keep the old phone and its
data until MADSET confirms the backup is up to date. Manual JSON export
remains available as an additional portable copy.
Why does an exercise already show weights when I open it?
That is deliberate. Each exercise remembers what you lifted the last time
you trained it — whenever that was — so you start from your real numbers
instead of typing them again. Adjust from there.
Loading the bar takes too many taps.
Hold the + or − instead of tapping. It repeats and speeds
up the longer you hold.
Can I fix a session from last week?
Yes. On the Workout screen use the ‹ › arrows on the week
bar to step back, pick the day, and open any exercise. Your corrections
save straight away.
The week runs Saturday to Friday, not Monday to Sunday.
That matches the training plan the app is built around.
Recovery says "No sync yet".
WHOOP recovery figures require an optional WHOOP connection.
Sign in with Apple under Settings → Account & backup, then
open Settings → Connected apps → WHOOP to connect your WHOOP
account through OAuth. If an existing connection needs attention, use Reconnect WHOOP.
MADSET never asks you to email your WHOOP password. Plan, logging, progress
and history remain available without WHOOP; WHOOP recovery values do not.
Does the app write to Apple Health?
Never. It only reads a few values (body weight, resting heart rate, sleep)
for comparison inside the app, and only if you grant permission. Health
retained values are encrypted before MADSET backs them up.
How do I switch to Arabic?
Settings → Language & units → App language in newer versions
(App language is directly in Settings in older versions). The interface mirrors
right-to-left. Exercise and machine names stay in English on purpose —
that is what they are called in the gym.
How do I delete everything?
Use Settings → Manage your data → Delete MADSET account
in newer versions (under Data & privacy in older versions).
Deleting the app removes its local copy from that iPhone, but is not an
account-deletion request. Data included in the last successful encrypted
Health Vault sync can be restored after reinstalling and signing in with
the same Apple account. Deleting your MADSET account also deletes that
server-side Vault data and disconnects WHOOP.
How do I control messages from MADSET?
In versions with account messages, open Settings → Notifications.
Training & app updates covers workout encouragement and app or service updates,
not offers. News & offers is a separate choice.
In current versions, both start off. A forthcoming version will turn on training and app updates
at initial setup only if no prior choice exists. It preserves an existing off choice and does not
turn on an unclear older preference. News and offers and basic usage sharing stay off unless you opt in.
Online messages still need an active Apple sign-in inside MADSET and iOS notification permission;
enabling the service choice does not guarantee delivery. Local rest alerts and workout reminders
have their own switches. If saving fails, reconnect and use Retry saving:
changes are pending until the server confirms them. A message already accepted
by Apple cannot be recalled.
Why does a rest alert feel different with the screen locked?
The rest alert uses a short sound that stops on its own, not a repeating alarm.
Sound follows your iPhone's Silent Mode and Focus settings. The custom vibration pattern runs only while MADSET is open;
iOS controls notification vibration when the app is in the background or the
screen is locked. MADSET cannot promise the same pattern there.
Before contacting support
Check your MADSET app version and iOS version. Settings names can differ between versions.
For backup or connection problems, reconnect to the internet and check the result of Sync now or Reconnect WHOOP. Keep your old phone and data until backup success is confirmed.
For notification problems, check both MADSET switches and iOS notification, Silent Mode and Focus settings. Pending account-message preferences need Retry saving and server confirmation.
